THE IMAGINARIUM OF ALICE

An outdoor, interactive performance trail full of creative design, dance, music and multimedia interactive technologies created and choreographed by Average Height Ladies. The Imaginarium of Alice was commissioned by Southbank Centre, and inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll to celebrate 150 years since its first publication. It played to sell out audiences for Southbank's Imagine Festival 2015.

The fantastical work invited audiences to explore with experts of the imagination as they were led into the spiralling and kaleidoscopic world of Alice's Imaginarium.  Winding through tunnels and stairways where cats fly through the air and board games become human sized, this mind (and body) bending experience encouraged people to believe that the impossible is... possible!

Interactive technologies by Michele Panegrossi, a fully composed score by Jon Traynor, and props and design by Average Height Ladies created an immersive, playful environment for young (and not so young!) people to watch, move, listen and reflect.
